Having trouble with Time Off Requests? Here’s how to quickly resolve common issues.
Atto’s Time Off Requests feature is designed for ease of use, but occasional issues may arise. Below are common problems and their solutions to help keep your team’s time off requests running smoothly.
🔍 Common Issues & Solutions
1. Employees Can’t Submit a Time Off Request
Issue: An employee tries to request time off, but the option is unavailable.
Solution:
-
Ensure that Time Off Requests are enabled in Settings > Time Off.
-
Verify that at least one Time Off Code is available—if none are listed, an admin must add them in settings.
-
Employees cannot submit requests for past dates. If time off needs to be added for past days, an admin must manually enter it.
2. Requests Are Stuck in Pending Status
Issue: A submitted time off request isn’t being approved or rejected.
Solution:
-
Admins and managers should review pending requests in Dashboard > Time Off > Team Requests.
-
If notifications weren’t received, check Settings > Notifications & Reminders to ensure alerts are enabled.
-
Employees can cancel a pending request if it’s no longer needed and submit a new one if necessary.
3. A Request Was Submitted but Didn’t Appear in Reports
Issue: A time off request is missing from reports.
Solution:
-
Ensure the request was approved — only approved requests appear in reports.
-
Check if filters (date range, employee, leave type) are correctly applied in Reports > Time Off.
-
Confirm the request falls within the selected pay period if reviewing payroll reports.
5. Notifications for Time Off Requests Are Not Being Received
Issue: Employees or managers aren’t receiving alerts about time off requests.
Solution:
-
Ensure that notifications are enabled in Settings > Notifications & Reminders > Time Off.
-
Confirm that push notifications are turned on in the device settings for Atto.
-
If using email alerts, check the spam/junk folder for missed notifications.
