Atto’s Time Off Requests and Scheduling features work together to ensure accurate availability, prevent scheduling conflicts, and help admins manage shifts efficiently.
How Time Off Affects Scheduling
Managing Conflicting Shifts
If an employee has scheduled shifts during their requested time off, admins must remove or adjust those shifts before approving the request.
-
The system does not automatically remove conflicting shifts.
-
Admins will be prompted to resolve conflicts before finalizing approval.
-
Once approved, the time off is logged in the employee’s Timesheets and Reports.
Preventing Scheduling Conflicts
If an admin attempts to assign a shift during an employee’s approved time off:
-
The system will display a Conflict Alert.
-
The shift cannot be assigned unless the admin manually resolves the conflict by adjusting the shift’s date, time, or assigned employee.
Tracking Approved Time Off
Employees can review their approved time off in:
✔ Reports > Time Off → Displays a full log of past and upcoming approved requests.
✔ Timesheets → Reflects approved time off entries as either paid or unpaid, depending on company settings.
Managers and admins can use filters in the Time Off Requests page to review employee availability before scheduling shifts. Filters include:
- Members → Check requests for a specific team member
-
Status → Pending, Approved, Rejected, or Expired
-
Date Range → View time off requests for specific periods
These tools help admins and managers ensure that time off is accounted for before finalizing schedules.
Making Adjustments to the Schedule
Handling Shifts That Overlap with Time Off
If an employee has a scheduled shift that conflicts with a time off request, an admin must adjust or remove the shift before approving the request.
-
Go to Scheduling and locate any shifts that overlap with the time off request.
-
Reassign the shift to another employee or adjust the date/time as needed.
-
Once all conflicts are resolved, proceed with approving the time off request.
Checking Employee Availability
Before assigning a shift, Atto automatically checks for time off conflicts to ensure smooth scheduling. If a conflict exists, admins are notified with details before finalizing the shift.
To review time off manually before scheduling:
•Go to Dashboard > Time Off to view upcoming approved requests.
•Use filters to find time off by status, employee, or date range.
