Atto gives account owners flexibility in managing time off approvals. By default, only admins can approve or reject requests, but you can allow managers to take over approvals if it better fits your team structure.
How to Enable Manager Approvals
Admins can update approval permissions in the app:
Go to Settings > Time Off Preferences
Find the Require Manager Approval setting
Toggle:
ON → Managers can approve or reject requests
OFF → Only admins can approve or reject
| When enabled, managers will receive notifications when team members submit a request.
How Managers Approve or Reject Requests
Once manager approvals are enabled:
Go to Dashboard > Time Off > Team
Select a request to view details (dates, time off code, notes)
Take action:
✔ Approve → The time off is added to the employee’s timesheet
❌ Reject → The request is archived, and the employee is notified
Key Considerations
If manager approvals are disabled, managers can view requests but cannot take action.
Only admins can modify or cancel approved requests.
Admins can update these permissions anytime in Settings > Time Off Preferences.

Enable manager approvals if team leads manage their group’s availability
Keep approvals admin-only for centralized control and consistency
Ensure notifications are turned on so managers don’t miss new requests
