Atto’s Time Off Requests feature lets employees request time off and gives managers full control over tracking, reviewing, and scheduling. All approved time off is automatically added to reports and timesheets for accurate records.
How Time Off Requests Work
Employees submit a request — They choose a leave type, select dates, and enter hours per day.
Managers review and approve/reject — Requests show up under the Team tab.
Approved time off is logged — It’s added to Reports > Time Off and reflected in scheduling.
Employees are notified — Status updates are sent for Approved, Rejected, or Expired requests.
Submitting a Time Off Request (Employees)
To submit a request:
Tap the ➕ icon in the Dashboard, or go to:
Reports → Add Time Off
Dashboard > Time Off → Add Time Off
Then:
Select Dates → Tap all the days you want to request
Choose Time Off Code → Pick from available options (e.g., Vacation, Sick Leave)
Set Hours per Day → Enter the number of hours off per day
Optional → Add a note if needed
Tap Send Request to submit
You’ll be notified once your request is reviewed.
Tracking Your Requests
Track requests in Dashboard > Time Off > My Requests:
Upcoming → Shows requests where none of the requested days have started yet, including Pending, Approved, or Rejected
Past → Shows requests where any of the requested days have already passed, including Approved, Rejected, or Expired
Request Statuses Explained
⏳ Pending → The request is waiting for manager review and approval
✔ Approved → The request was approved and is added to your timesheet
❌ Rejected → The request was denied, archived, and you’ll be notified
⚠️ Expired → If not reviewed before the first day of leave, the request expires and won’t be added to the timesheet
Reviewing and Approving Requests (Admins & Managers)
To manage requests:
Go to Dashboard > Time Off > Team
Open a request to Approve or Reject
Once approved, time off is automatically added to timesheets and reports. Rejected requests are archived, and the employee is notified.
Handling Scheduling Conflicts
Before approving a request, Atto checks for:
Conflicting shifts — You’ll need to remove the shift manually
Overlapping time off — You’ll be notified before approving another request for the same period
Tracking and Reporting
Reports > Time Off — View all approved leave
Time Off Requests tab — Filter by Member, Status, or Dates
Payroll Reports — Paid and unpaid leave appears in reports and est. pay based on default pay rates
If a request is cancelled by an admin, it’s removed from the employee’s timesheet and they’ll be notified.
