Add and Manage Customers for Invoicing

A Customer represents the person or business you bill. Save their contact and billing information once, then reuse it whenever you create an invoice.

Customer information

A Customer record can include:

  • Company Name

  • Contact Person

  • Email Address

  • Phone Number

  • Street Address

  • City

  • State

  • Zip Code

Add a Customer from the Customers tab

  1. Open Invoicing from your Dashboard.

  2. Select Customers.

  3. Tap +.

  4. Enter the Customer’s company, contact, and billing information.

  5. Save the Customer.

Add a Customer while creating an invoice

You can add someone new without leaving the invoice workflow:

  1. Start a new invoice.

  2. Select Create New Customer.

  3. Enter the Customer’s details.

  4. Save the Customer.

  5. Continue creating the invoice.

The Customer will also be available for future invoices.

Find an existing Customer

Open Invoicing from your Dashboard, select Customers, then use the search icon to find a saved record. When creating an invoice, Customers you’ve billed recently may also appear under Recently Billed.

Search before adding someone new to avoid duplicate Customer records.

Update Customer information

  1. Open Invoicing from your Dashboard, then select Customers.

  2. Select the Customer you want to update.

  3. Tap the edit icon beside the Customer’s details.

  4. Update their company, contact, or billing information.

  5. Select Edit Customer to save your changes.

Create a separate Customer only when you’re billing a different person, business, or billing entity.

View a Customer’s invoicing activity

Select a Customer to view their contact and billing information, along with:

  • Total Invoiced

  • Total Collected

  • Outstanding Amount

  • Overdue Amount

  • Invoices created for that Customer
