FAQs on Time Off Requests

This guide provides quick answers to the most common questions about how Time Off Requests work in Atto. Whether you’re requesting time off or managing it for your team, these FAQs help ensure clarity and smooth handling across the board.


1. Can I request multiple days off at once?


Yes. You can select multiple dates in a single request. Tap all the days you need off, enter the hours per day, and submit. The Repeats option will automatically apply if the same hours apply to all selected dates.


2. What happens if my request expires?

If your request isn’t approved or rejected before the first day of requested leave, it will expire. Expired requests:

  • Will not be added to your timesheet

  • Cannot be approved later

  • Must be resubmitted if leave is still needed


3. Can I cancel or modify a submitted request?

  • Pending requests can be edited or canceled directly in the app

  • Approved requests can’t be edited by employees — reach out to an admin or manager to request changes


4. Can I request time off for past dates?

No. Time off can only be requested for future dates. If you missed a request or need to log past leave, ask your admin to manually add the time off for you.


5. How can I check the status of my request?

You’ll receive a notification once your request is approved, rejected, or expired. You can also view the status anytime by going to Dashboard > Time Off.

  • Upcoming Requests → For requests where the first day of leave hasn’t started yet (Pending, Approved, or Rejected)

  • Past Requests → For requests where at least one day has passed (Approved, Rejected, or Expired)


6. Can admins or managers submit requests for employees?


Yes. Admins and managers can manually add time off on behalf of team members. These entries are instantly approved and added to the employee’s timesheet.


7. Where can I see my time off history?

Go to Dashboard > Time Off to review all your past and upcoming requests, including Approved, Rejected, and Expired entries.


8. What happens if my request is rejected?

You’ll receive a notification. Rejected requests are archived, and you can submit a new request for different dates if needed.


9. Will approved time off appear in my reports?

Yes. Approved time off is automatically added to your Timesheets and included in your Reports, helping ensure accurate payroll tracking.
