Before You Arrive
Make sure:
you are logged in to the Atto mobile app
location access for Atto is set to Always
Auto Time Clock works while your phone is locked. For best results, keep Atto running in the background. Atto uses location only when needed, with minimal impact on battery life.
When You Arrive
After your device detects that you arrived at the job site:
Atto clocks you in automatically
a time card is created with your start time and location
the Time Clock shows your current hours and an information note with the job site and automatic clock-in time
the time card is available in Reports, where you can view its recorded time and location
an Auto tag identifies the automatic clock-in
You also receive an automatic clock-in notification. If you leave within 10 minutes, Atto removes the time card so a short visit is not recorded as work time.
When You Leave
Atto clocks you out after your device detects that you have left the job site. Your time card is updated with the end time, location, and total hours. The Auto tag also appears beside the clock-out when it was completed automatically.
If Log Travel Time is on, qualifying travel between job sites is included in your work hours. For the timing and timesheet details, see Tracking Travel Time with Auto Time Clock.
If You Leave Within 10 Minutes
If you leave a job site within 10 minutes of being automatically clocked in, Atto removes the time card and does not save it to reports.
If you return after the time card has been removed, Atto creates a new time card. The removed time card is not restored.
Clock Out Manually
You can still clock out manually while Auto Time Clock is tracking your time:
Open Time Clock and select Clock Out.
Choose Save Hours to save all hours tracked so far to today's timesheet.
Choose Delete Time Card to remove the time card without saving its hours.
Select Clock Out to confirm, or Not Now to remain clocked in.
After a manual clock-out, Atto does not clock you out again when you leave the job site.
Manual Entries Take Precedence
If you are already clocked in manually when you enter a job site, Atto does not create a duplicate automatic clock-in. If you clock out manually, leaving the job site later does not create a second clock-out.
