How Log Travel Time Works
When Log Travel Time is on:
A team member leaves a job site and is automatically clocked out.
They arrive at another job site where Auto Time Clock applies to them within two hours.
After they remain at the new job site for at least 10 minutes, Atto clocks them back in.
Atto joins the entries into one time card and includes the time spent traveling between the job sites in their work hours.
The two-hour window allows team members to travel from one job site to another. The 10-minute stay prevents a brief pass through a job site from being recorded as work time.
How Travel Time Appears on the Timesheet
Once the entries are joined, the team member's time card includes the full period from the first job site through their arrival at the next one. This means the travel time between the two automatic entries is included in their total work hours.
When Log Travel Time Is Off
When Log Travel Time is off, time spent traveling between job sites is not included in the team member's work hours.
Atto still allows a five-minute return window after an automatic clock-out. If the team member returns to the same job site within five minutes, Atto clocks them back in and joins the entries. This prevents a brief movement outside the job site area from splitting their time card.
The five-minute return window applies only to the same job site. It does not record travel to another job site.
Travel Time and Short Visits
The travel-time rules do not change how Atto handles a short first visit. If a team member leaves within 10 minutes of being automatically clocked in, Atto removes that time card. Returning later creates a new time card; the removed one is not restored.
