Atto makes it easy for managers to track hours, monitor team activity, assign shifts, review reports, and manage requests — all in one place. This guide walks you through what you can do, where to find key tools, and how to get started.


Getting Started with Atto

Accept Your Invite & Create Your Account

To begin using Atto as a Manager, follow these steps:

  1. Receive Your Invite

    • Via Email: Check your inbox for an email invitation.

    • Via Direct Link: Click the link shared by your admin.

  2. Set Up Your Profile

    • Enter your full name and create a password.

    • Confirm your email address to activate your account.

  3. Download the Mobile App

The app gives you full control to manage your team and track hours on the go.


Your Role as a Manager in Atto

Managers in Atto have access to both personal and team-wide features.

You can:

  • Track your own hours, jobs, breaks, and time off.

  • Review your personal timesheets.

  • View team-wide data and timesheets collected on the account.

  • Invite or remove users with the Employee role.

  • Approve time off and manual time entries (if permissions allow).

  • View detailed team reports and filter by user, job, or time period.


Navigating the Atto App

Atto is structured into five main tabs:

Dashboard, Chat, Time Clock, Reports, and Settings.

| Each tab gives you access to key tools for managing work, tracking time, and supporting your team.


1. Dashboard

The Dashboard gives you a real-time overview of your team’s status, shifts, and reports — all in one place.

Quick Access Shortcuts

  • Team Activity – See who’s working, on break, or off today.

  • Schedule – View, assign, or edit team shifts.

  • Shift Requests — Manage Trade, Cover, and Time Off requests.

  • Time Off – Review and approve pending leave requests.

| Tap any shortcut to jump to that section.


Using the Plus (+) Button

Use the plus button in the top-right corner to take quick actions:

  • Add a new Shift - Schedule a shift for an employee or yourself

  • Add a new Time Card - Manually log work hours when needed.

  • Request Time Off - Submit or approve time-off requests for employees or yourself.

  • Add a new Drive - Log mileage for business-related trips.

  • Add a new Team Member - Invite new employees to join Atto.


Today’s Shift

See your assigned shift for the day.

If none is assigned, tap Start Unscheduled Shift to begin tracking hours.


Team Activity (Live View)

See your team’s current status:

  • On the Clock – Actively working

  • Clocked Out – Finished for the day

  • On Break – Taking a break

  • Not Active – Yet to start their shift

Tap All Members for detailed insights, including:

  • Clock in/out times and locations

  • Job and break timestamps

  • Notes and attachments (if any)

Managers can clock in/out team members and use filters to view by status or department.


Upcoming Shifts

View and manage upcoming team shifts.

Tap All Shifts to see the full schedule and edit as needed.


This Week (Overview)


Track weekly performance:

  • Estimated Pay – Preview pay totals

  • Total Paid Hours – Monitor hours worked

  • Miles Tracked – Review drives (if enabled)

  • Time Off Taken – See approved time-off hours

Tap All Reports to explore detailed breakdowns.​


Requests

See all pending time-off requests.

Tap Time Off Requests to review, approve, or reject — and filter by employee, date, or status.


2. Chat

Use Atto’s built-in Chat to stay in touch with your team.

  • Start 1:1 or group chats

  • Share updates or shift changes

  • Keep communication clear and in-app


3. Time Clock

Track your own hours and switch between job tasks easily.


Clock In & Out

Tap Clock In to start tracking your time.

Tap Clock Out at the end of your shift.

| Your hours will appear in the Reports > Timesheets section.


Using Job Codes

Select a Job Code (if required) when clocking in.

| Use Switch Job if you’re switching tasks during a shift.


Taking Breaks

Tap Take Break to pause. Select a break type (if needed).

Tap End Break to resume.

Note: If automatic breaks are enabled by your company, the break button may not appear.


Notes & Attachments

Add a note or upload up to 5 images to a time card.

Helpful for documenting work or special conditions.


Location Tracking & Clock-In Rules

If required, enable location services in your phone settings.

You may only be able to clock in when you’re within the allowed job site area.

For errors, check location settings or move closer to the site.

4. Reports

The Reports tab helps you monitor both your own and your team’s activity.

Managers can view reports at the personal and team level.

Available reports:

  • Timesheets – Daily logs of worked hours, overtime, and breaks

  • Pay – Estimated pay and work hour summaries

  • Miles – Total distance and drive logs (if tracking is on)

  • Job Codes – Time spent per task/project

  • Time Off – View approved time off

Tap the ( + ) Plus Button to:

  • Add a new Time Card

  • Request Time Off

  • Add a new Drive

Only Timesheets, Job Codes, and Mileage reports are downloadable.


5. Settings

Profile & Password

Update your name, email, or password.


Notifications & Reminders

Stay informed with personalized alerts:

  • Clock-in/Clock-out Reminders

  • Job Site Notifications

  • Missed Time Alerts

  • Shift Reminders

  • Time Off Notifications

  • Notifications for Other Users’ Actions (if enabled)


Manage Team

  • Add/remove users with an Employee role

  • Track pending invites

  • Review team member details


Invite New Members

Send invites via email or share a direct invite link.


Help Center & Support

  • Browse help articles

  • Contact our support team directly if needed


Tips for Managers

  • Schedule shifts in advance

  • Review time off regularly to avoid conflicts

  • Use reports to optimize scheduling

  • Keep communication clear with in-app chat

  • Encourage accurate clock-ins and note entries
