Creating and assigning shifts in Atto is designed to be simple and customizable, giving managers the flexibility to set up schedules that meet team needs. This feature allows you to specify shift details, assign team members, and designate open shifts when extra coverage is required.

How to Create a Shift

To set up a shift:

  1. Open the Scheduling Page: Tap the + icon to begin creating a new shift.

  2. Enter Shift Details: Fill in essential information, including:

  • Date: Specify when the shift will take place. You can also select multiple dates to add the same shift at once for convenience.

  • Start and End Times: Set the shift’s duration by entering start and end times.

  • Job Site:  Use this field to indicate the specific location where the shift will take place if your team works across multiple sites.

Assigning Team Members

Once the shift details are set, you can assign team members in two ways:

  • One or More Employees: Select individual team members who will work this shift. If different roles are needed, you can assign job codes to each employee separately after selecting them for the shift.

  • Open Shifts: For flexible coverage, mark the shift as open so any team member can claim it. Set the number of available spots and add a job code to define the role or job for employees choosing to claim the shift.

Managing Overlaps and Conflicts

When creating shifts, the system will alert you if there’s a conflict, such as an overlapping shift or a scheduled time-off period. This helps ensure that all shifts are accurately assigned and that employees are available.

Creating and assigning shifts in Atto is straightforward and flexible, helping managers build schedules that work for the entire team.
