FEIN Verification in Atto Payroll

Have more questions? Submit a request

Atto Payroll takes accuracy and compliance seriously. As part of our commitment to both, we automatically verify your Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) after you complete payroll processing.

What is the FEIN verification process?

Once you finalize your payroll, Atto will automatically compare your submitted FEIN with the corresponding company name in our records. This ensures the accuracy of your tax reporting and avoids potential delays or complications.

What happens if the FEIN doesn't match the company name?

In the rare case that the provided FEIN doesn't match our records, you'll receive a notification from Atto. To resolve this discrepancy, you'll need to submit a copy of your IRS Form SS-4, Application for Employer Identification Number. This form officially documents your business information and confirms your valid FEIN.

How to submit your SS-4 form:

  • You can upload a clear copy of your SS-4 directly through the Atto Payroll platform.
  • Alternatively, you can email a scanned copy to support@attotime.com

Our support team will review your submitted SS-4 form and update your account information accordingly. Once the verification is complete, you can proceed with future payroll processing without interruption.

Benefits of FEIN verification:

  • Ensures accurate tax reporting: Accurate FEIN information is crucial for proper tax filings and avoids potential issues with the IRS.
  • Prevents delays in processing: Timely verification helps prevent delays in your payroll processing timeline.
  • Maintains compliance: FEIN verification ensures your business adheres to tax regulations.
