Approval Deadlines

To maintain a smooth payroll cycle, it’s important to understand when to submit your payroll:

  • 4-Day Processing (Default for New Companies):
    • Deadline: Payroll must be submitted at least four business days before payday.
    • Example: If your payday is on Friday, payroll must be submitted by 5 PM on Monday.
  • 2-Day Processing:
    • Deadline: Payroll must be submitted at least two business days before payday.
    • Example: If your payday is on Friday, payroll must be submitted by the close of business on Wednesday.

Qualifying for 2-Day Processing

To qualify for 2-day processing, your business must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Consistent Payroll Processing: You must have processed your payroll 10 times consecutively without any interruptions.
  • Financial Transparency: You are required to submit your Balance Sheet to Atto for review.

If you meet these criteria and wish to enable 2-day processing, please contact Atto support for assistance.

Tips for On-Time Payroll Submission

  • Set Reminders: Utilize digital calendars or payroll software reminders to notify you a few days before the submission deadline.
  • Review Regularly: Make it a routine to review payroll details well in advance of the deadlines to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate: Keep open lines of communication with your payroll department or provider to address any concerns or questions as they arise.

By adhering to the prescribed payroll approval timelines and understanding the qualifications for expedited processing, you can ensure that your payroll operations run efficiently without any disruptions. Proper planning and preparation are key to successful payroll management.
