How to import new employees from QuickBooks Online

When integrating QuickBooks Online with Atto, you can easily sync new employees to ensure their time data is accurately tracked and recorded.

| Important:

To keep your records consistent, always add or update employees directly in QuickBooks Online first.

Inviting employees through Atto will not create or sync them in QuickBooks Online.


How to Import Employees from QuickBooks Online into Atto

1. Log in to the Atto Web App

Click the QuickBooks Online logo in the top navigation bar.

2. Select “Import” from the Dropdown

This will open the import panel for syncing new employees.

3. Match Employees to Atto

For each employee you want to import:

  • Select the corresponding Atto user from the dropdown, or

  • Choose Invite Employee, then enter their email to send them an invite to join Atto.

4. Click “Import”

Once matched or invited, click Import to finalize the sync.


This ensures your team members are properly linked between both systems and that their timesheets can be accurately synced to QuickBooks Online for payroll.
