1. Team Member Was Not Automatically Clocked In
Issue: A team member arrived at a job site, but Atto did not clock them in automatically.
Solution: Confirm that:
Auto Time Clock is enabled for the company
the current day is selected under Active Days
the job site is active
if Manage Users & Job Sites is turned on, Auto Time Clock is enabled for the team member and the job site is assigned to them
Atto's location permission is set to Always
the team member is logged in to the mobile app
the device can access location services
Auto Time Clock does not run at unassigned job sites or on inactive days. The team member can still clock in manually.
2. Auto Time Clock Did Not Work in the Background
Issue: A team member expected an automatic clock-in while the app was closed or their phone was locked.
Solution: Confirm that Atto's location access is set to Always. Auto Time Clock is designed to work in the background when the app is closed or the phone is locked.
3. Wi-Fi Was Unavailable
Issue: A time entry did not immediately appear while the device was offline.
Solution: Wi-Fi is not required for location detection. Auto Time Clock can use GPS, and the time entry syncs when an internet connection becomes available.
4. GPS Signal Was Temporarily Lost
Issue: The device temporarily lost its GPS signal while the team member was working.
Solution: A temporary loss of GPS should not automatically end an active time entry. Tracking continues, and Atto clocks the team member out when their device detects that they have left the job site.
5. Location Changed Near the Job Site Boundary
Issue: Location signals changed repeatedly while a team member was near the edge of a job site.
Solution: Atto accounts for rapid enter-and-exit signals and avoids creating duplicate time cards. Check that the map pin is in the correct place and that the radius covers the actual work area. The radius controls how far around the pin Atto considers the team member to be at the job site.
6. A Short Time Card Disappeared
Issue: A time card created during a brief job site visit is no longer available.
Solution: This is expected when the team member leaves within 10 minutes. Atto treats it as a short visit, removes the time card, and does not save it to reports. If the team member returns after the time card has been removed, Atto creates a new one. The removed time card is not restored.
7. Automatic Entry Was Not Created After a Manual Clock-In
Issue: A team member entered a job site after clocking in manually, but Atto did not create another entry.
Solution: Manual entries take precedence. If the team member is already clocked in, Atto does not create a duplicate automatic entry.
8. Auto Time Clock Stopped After an App Update
Issue: Automatic clocking stopped after the Atto app was updated.
Solution: Open the Atto app and check the device's location permissions. If prompted, set location access to Always again. The team member's Auto Time Clock settings and job site assignments remain preserved.
9. The Device Has a Low Battery
Issue: The device entered Low Power Mode or was close to turning off.
Solution: Auto Time Clock continues working with location services when possible, including while the device is in Low Power Mode. If the device turns off, location events cannot be detected until it is available again.
