Drive Detection Tips

Ensure Atto accurately tracks your drives by following these setup steps and best practices for both iOS and Android devices.


For iOS Devices

Motion & Fitness

  • Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Motion & Fitness

  • Turn on Motion & Fitness for Atto

Location Services

  • Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services

  • Ensure Atto is set to Always

  • Turn on Precise Location

Background App Refresh

  • Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh

  • Make sure it’s enabled for Atto

Drive Detection

  • After your drive ends, allow 5–15 minutes for Atto to process and log the trip

App Stability

  • Avoid force-quitting the app or using memory-saving tools that shut down background apps

  • Disable Offload Unused Apps from Settings > General > iPhone Storage if it affects Atto

Connectivity & Updates

  • Keep Wi-Fi turned on (even if not connected) to improve GPS accuracy

  • Pair Atto with Bluetooth in your vehicle if possible

  • Update the Atto app and iOS regularly


For Android Devices

Location Settings

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Atto > Permissions > Location

  • Set to Allow all the time and turn on Use Precise Location

Physical Activity

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Atto > Permissions

  • Allow Physical Activity for Atto

Data Usage

  • Go to Settings > Connections > Data Usage

  • Keep Mobile Data active for real-time sync

Background App Behavior

  • Disable any battery optimization or background restrictions for Atto

  • For device-specific guidance, refer to Atto’s Android optimization guide

General Usage

  • Open Atto regularly to keep it active

  • Use Wi-Fi for better accuracy and less battery drain

System Updates

  • Keep your Android OS and the Atto app up to date
