Troubleshooting Mileage Tracking in Atto

Updated over a month ago

If mileage tracking isn’t working as expected, use this guide to review key setup steps. These checks will help ensure Atto can accurately detect and record your drives.

1. Confirm Mileage Tracking Is Enabled

Admins need to ensure that Mileage Tracking is turned on at the account level.

  • Open the Atto app

  • Go to Settings > Mileage Tracking

  • Make sure the toggle is enabled

2. Check Location Permissions

Atto needs permission to access location in the background for drive detection.

On iOS:

  • Open Settings > Scroll to Atto

  • Tap Location

  • Set to Always

  • Make sure Precise Location is enabled

On Android:

  • Open Settings > Tap Apps (or Apps & notifications) > Select Atto

  • Go to Permissions > Location

  • Set to Allow all the time

  • Enable Use precise location, if shown

3. Enable Motion & Activity Permissions

This allows Atto to detect driving movement and start/stop tracking accurately.

On iOS:

  • Go to Settings > Atto

  • Toggle Motion & Fitness ON

On Android:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Atto > Permissions

  • Enable Physical Activity (or Motion permissions)

4. After Setup: What to Expect

Once everything is enabled, drives should be automatically logged while on the clock. If a drive doesn’t appear within 10–15 minutes:

  • Confirm your shift is active (you must be clocked in)

  • Ensure your device has an internet connection

  • Check that location services are still active
