How to Set a Mileage Rate

Updated over a month ago

If your team drives for work, setting a clear mileage rate helps ensure fair and consistent reimbursement. In Atto, you can easily define this rate based on your company policy or regional standards.

What is a Mileage Rate?

It’s the amount your company reimburses per mile (or kilometer) driven for business purposes. Atto uses this rate to calculate the estimated value of each drive.

How to Set Your Mileage Rate

  1. Go to Settings

Open the Atto app and head to Settings.

  2. Select Mileage Tracking

  3. Enter a Rate

Under Mileage Rate, type in your chosen reimbursement amount (e.g. $0.58 per mile).

  4. Save Changes

Your new rate will apply to all future drives logged by your team.

Default Rate Option

If you don’t set a rate manually, Atto applies the latest IRS standard mileage rate (for U.S. users) as a default. You can update this at any time.

Why This Matters

  • Fair Reimbursements – Ensure employees are consistently compensated for work-related travel

  • Flexible Setup – Match your company’s financial policies or regional requirements

  • Simple Reporting – Makes tracking and managing travel expenses much easier
