Getting Started with Mileage Tracking

Updated over a month ago

Mileage tracking in Atto helps your team log business drives with ease — whether it’s for job site travel, reimbursements, or accurate reporting. You can track miles automatically or manually, and even include parking and toll expenses.

What You Can Do

  • Track mileage automatically while on the clock

  • Manually add drives when needed

  • Include parking fees and toll costs

  • Set a reimbursement rate per mile or kilometer

  • Choose between miles or kilometers

  • Export detailed mileage reports for payroll or tax purposes

How to Set It Up

  1. Go to Settings > Mileage Tracking

  2. Enable Mileage Tracking

Once enabled, Atto can automatically log drives based on location activity while users are on the clock.

  3. Set Your Reimbursement Rate

Add a custom rate per mile/kilometer. If no rate is set, Atto applies the IRS standard mileage rate.

  4. Allow Manual Drive Entries (optional)

Enable this if you want team members to log drives manually — including date, locations, distance, and trip notes.

  5. Enable Parking & Toll Tracking (optional)

This lets users enter parking or toll fees directly in each drive entry.

  6. Choose Unit of Measurement

Enable Use Metric Units (Kilometre) to display drive distances in kilometers instead of miles. This is helpful if your team operates in regions where kilometers are the standard.

Why It Matters

  • Flexible logging – Capture drives automatically or manually

  • Clear records – Keep track of business travel, expenses, and reimbursement

  • Fair compensation – Mileage rate ensures consistent and accurate reimbursements

  • Time-saving reports – Export mileage reports as needed for payroll, compliance, or taxes
