Setting Location Tracking Preferences for your Team

Atto lets you tailor location tracking to match your company’s needs. Whether you require full tracking during shifts or prefer a simpler check-in approach, the settings are flexible and easy to manage.


How to Set Location Tracking Preferences

  1. Go to Settings in your Atto account

  2. Select Location Tracking

Choose from these three options:

  • While on the Clock

    Tracks location in real time during the entire shift. Requires devices to have “Always” location access enabled.

  • On Clock In/Out Only

    Tracks location only at the time of clock in and clock out. Devices must be set to “While Using the App.”

  • Never

    Disables location tracking completely. No location permissions are required.


User-Specific Location Tracking

Enable User-Specific Tracking to set location preferences individually for each team member. This is useful when different roles or responsibilities call for different levels of tracking.


Important Notes

  • Location permissions must be enabled on employee devices for location tracking to work correctly.

  • This affects key features like clocking in/out, job logging, and break tracking.
