Managing Manual Time Entry Permissions

Updated over a month ago

Atto gives you the flexibility to allow team members to manually add, edit, or delete time entries. This can be useful for correcting mistakes or logging hours when clocking in or out wasn’t possible. To ensure accuracy and control, manual entry permissions can be customized based on user roles.

How to Enable Manual Time Entries

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Select Manual Entries

  3. Turn Allow Manual Entries ON

Once enabled, users will be able to add time cards, log time off, and record drives manually—depending on their role.

Assigning Role-Based Permissions

You can control who can make manual entries by role:

  • Employee

Can only manage their own time entries. Useful for correcting personal records without affecting others.

  • Manager/Admin

Can add, edit, or delete time entries for any team member. Ideal for reviewing and fixing missed or inaccurate records team-wide.

Why Permission Settings Matter

  • Data Integrity

Prevent unauthorized edits and ensure only the right people can adjust time records.

  • Accountability

Employees manage their own time; managers/admins handle exceptions and oversight.

  • Accurate Payroll

Clean time data = fair compensation and fewer payroll errors.
