Setting Up Timesheet Rounding

Updated over a month ago

Atto’s Timesheet Rounding feature allows you to round clock-in and clock-out times to the nearest increment. This helps ensure consistency across work hours and simplifies payroll processing — especially for teams that prefer managing time in fixed intervals.

How to Enable Timesheet Rounding

  1. Go to Settings > Time Options

  2. Enable the toggle for Rounding

  3. Choose a rounding increment from the list:

    • 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes

  4. Save your changes

Once enabled, all clock-in and clock-out times will automatically round to the nearest selected interval.

Clock-In Countdown (Visual Timer)

When rounding is active, employees may see a countdown timer after clocking in. This shows how many minutes remain before their start time is rounded.

Example:

If rounding is set to 15 minutes and someone clocks in at 8:10 AM, their time will be rounded to 8:15 AM, and a countdown will show -5 mins until rounding completes.

This feature helps set expectations and keeps the time tracking process transparent.

Benefits of Timesheet Rounding

  • Simplified Payroll – Reduces manual rounding, making payroll easier to manage

  • Consistency – Ensures uniformity in work hour totals across the team

  • Transparency – Countdown feature helps employees understand how rounding affects their time entries
