Contractor Document Signing

Updated over 2 months ago

As part of the onboarding process in Atto Payroll, contractors are required to complete and sign a W-9 form. This IRS form is used to provide your Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) and other identifying details for tax reporting purposes.

What’s Required

When completing the W-9 form, you’ll need to provide:

  • Legal Name

  • Business Name (if applicable)

  • Address

  • Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)

This information is used by the company you’re contracting with to accurately report payments made to you. At the end of the year, this data is used to generate your 1099 form for tax filing.

Why It Matters

  • Ensures tax reporting accuracy

  • Complies with U.S. tax regulations

  • Helps avoid delays in payments or document processing

Be sure to review all information before signing to avoid errors or delays in your payroll setup.
