Changing Pay Schedule

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Your company’s pay schedule determines how often your employees get paid — weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly. This setting is crucial for ensuring timely and consistent payroll processing.

How to Update Your Pay Schedule

  1. Log in to your Atto Payroll account.

  2. Go to Company Details.

  3. Scroll to the Pay Schedule section and click Update Pay Schedule.

  4. Select the pay frequency that matches your company’s process:

    • Weekly – 52 pay periods/year

    • Bi-weekly – 26 pay periods/year

    • Semi-monthly – 24 pay periods/year

    • Monthly – 12 pay periods/year

  5. Set the First Period End date – this marks the end of your first pay period.

  6. Choose the First Pay Day – this is when your team will receive their first paycheck.

  7. Click Save to apply the new pay schedule.

Why It Matters

Choosing the right pay schedule helps you:

  • Ensure employees are paid accurately and consistently

  • Align payroll processing with company cash flow

  • Meet local or state pay frequency regulations

📌 Once your schedule is active, all future payrolls will follow this frequency unless you update it again.
