To ensure compliance and accurate tax reporting, Atto Payroll automatically verifies your company’s Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) after your first payroll is processed.
How FEIN Verification Works
After payroll is finalized, Atto automatically checks that your submitted FEIN matches the registered company name in our records.
This verification step helps prevent reporting errors and ensures your business remains compliant with IRS regulations.
What Happens if There’s a Mismatch?
If your FEIN doesn’t match our records, you’ll receive a notification requesting verification. To resolve this, you’ll need to submit a copy of your IRS Form SS-4 (Application for Employer Identification Number). This form confirms your legal business name and EIN assignment.
How to Submit IRS Form SS-4
Please send a clear scanned copy of your SS-4 via email to our support team:
Once received, we’ll review the documentation and update your account. After verification, you’ll be able to continue payroll processing without delay.
Why FEIN Verification Matters
Accurate Tax Reporting – Prevents issues with IRS filings
Timely Payroll Processing – Avoids disruptions in payroll timelines
Compliance Assurance – Ensures your business meets federal tax requirements
