Configuring Overtime Settings

Managing overtime correctly is essential for fair pay and accurate payroll. Atto gives you full flexibility to define overtime rules that align with your company’s policies and labor regulations.


Accessing Overtime Settings

  1. Go to Settings in your Atto account

  2. Select Workweek & Overtime to view all available options


Customize Your Overtime Preferences

Weekly Overtime

  • Set the number of standard weekly hours (e.g., 40)

  • Define the rate multiplier for overtime (e.g., 1.5x)

Daily Overtime

  • Define the number of regular daily hours (e.g., 8)

  • Apply a rate multiplier for hours worked beyond that

Daily Double Overtime

  • Establish a threshold (e.g., after 12 hours/day)

  • Set the corresponding double-time rate (e.g., 2x)

7th Day Overtime

  • When an employee works seven consecutive days,

    • The first 8 hours on day 7 are paid at the overtime rate

    • Any hours beyond that are paid at the double-time rate

| 📌 Make sure this setting is enabled to account for consecutive day work compliance.


Advanced Pay Settings (Optional)

You can further tailor overtime pay using advanced conditions:

Weekend Overtime

  • Apply specific pay rates for work done on Saturday and/or Sunday

Public Holiday Overtime

  • Automatically treat public holiday hours as overtime

  • Use Atto’s built-in holiday list or add your own custom dates

  • Assign a unique rate multiplier per holiday

Night Shift Overtime

  • Define the hours that qualify as night work

  • Apply a specific night shift pay rate for these hours
