How to Set Up Your Payroll Period and Timesheet Report Settings

Updated this week

Atto makes payroll easier by automatically sending timesheet reports based on your preferred payroll schedule. Here’s how to configure your settings and manage report delivery.

Step 1: Set Your Payroll Period

  1. Go to Settings > Timesheet Report

  2. Select the start day of your workweek

  3. Choose your payroll period type

  4. Click Save to apply your settings

Payroll Period Options Explained

Choose the option that best matches your company’s payroll cycle:

  • Weekly

    • Receive a report every week covering a full 7-day work period

  • Bi-Weekly

    • Get reports every two weeks

    • Set a closing date to define when each report ends

  • Semi-Monthly

    • Receive two reports each month

    • Define the two specific dates when reports should close

  • Monthly

    • Receive a report once a month

    • Choose the final day for each month’s report

  • Custom

    • Configure a custom schedule

    • Reports will still be sent weekly, but only include the days you select

Step 2: Receive Timesheet Reports

Once configured, your timesheet reports will be:

  • Emailed to you automatically

  • Delivered the morning after your payroll period ends

Step 3: Add Report Recipients

To include additional people in the report distribution:

  • Make sure they are listed as Admins in your Atto account

  • Then, send their names and email addresses to [email protected]

Our team will make sure they’re added to the report recipient list.

Why This Matters

Setting up your payroll period and report preferences helps you:

• Automate timesheet summaries

• Stay on top of payroll with minimal admin work

• Ensure timely and accurate reporting for all Admins
