Creating and Managing Job Codes

Job Codes in Atto help you categorize work time by task, project, or department — offering more detailed insights into how your team spends their time. Here’s how to create, manage, and apply job codes effectively.


Add a New Job Code

  1. Go to Settings > Job Codes

  2. Click “Add Job Code”

  3. Enter a name for the new job code

  4. Click “Add” to save


Edit an Existing Job Code

  1. Go to Settings > Job Codes

  2. Click “Edit” or tap the pen icon next to the job code

  3. Update the name as needed

  4. Click “Done” or “Save Changes”

| 📌 Note: The updated name will apply to all existing time cards that used the original job code.


Delete a Job Code

  1. Go to Settings > Job Codes

  2. On mobile, tap “Edit”

  3. Delete any job codes you no longer need

| Deleted job codes will still appear in past time cards and reports for historical accuracy.


Require Job Codes at Clock-In

To ensure all work hours are categorized correctly:

  1. Go to Settings > Job Codes

  2. Toggle “Require Jobs on Clock In” ON

| When enabled, users will be prompted to select a job code each time they clock in.
