Configuring Public Holiday Overtime

Updated over a month ago

Atto allows you to compensate team members fairly for working on public holidays by customizing your overtime settings. Follow the steps below to configure this feature according to your organization’s policies.

Steps to Set Up Public Holiday Overtime

  1. Open Settings

Go to your account Settings in the Atto web dashboard.

  2. Find Workweek & Overtime

Scroll to the “Workweek & Overtime” section.

  3. Enable Public Holidays

Toggle the Public Holiday setting to activate holiday-specific overtime rules.

  4. Select a Country

Choose your country from the list provided by Atto to automatically load nationally recognized public holidays.

  5. Edit Holiday List (Optional)

    • Click Edit to remove holidays that don’t apply to your business.

    • Note: Once removed, holidays cannot be restored automatically, so review changes carefully.

  6. Add Custom Holidays

If your organization observes additional dates not on the list, select “Add Custom Holidays” and enter them manually.

    | 📌 Reminder: Custom holidays reset every year. Be sure to update your list annually to keep timesheet data accurate.

  7. Set Public Holiday Pay Rate

Assign a specific overtime rate for public holiday work. All hours logged on designated holidays will automatically be calculated using this rate.

Why This Matters

Configuring public holiday overtime ensures your team is fairly compensated, and your timesheets and payroll stay aligned with internal policies and labor regulations.
