How to enable and manage departments

Atto allows you to separate your team into departments for easier management and reporting. You can assign specific managers to a department and allow the managers to review timesheet activity for that department only. A member can be assigned as a manager to several departments.

To enable departments for your account:
  1. Go to Settings > Departments 
  2. Turn “Enable Departments” ON.
After you’ve enabled departments, you can follow the instructions below to manage your team members and departments.
To add a new department:
  1. Go to Settings > Departments
  2. Click “Add New Department”
  3. Enter a name for the department
  4. Click “Add Department”
To add team members to a department:
  1. Go to Settings > Departments
  2. Select the department
  3. Click “Add Members”
  4. Select the team members from the list
  5. Click “Add to ‘Department Name’”
NOTE: One team member can be part of one department only.
To remove team members from a department:
  1. Go to Settings > Departments
  2. Select the department you need to manage the members for
  3. Tap on edit and select the team members from the list
To remove a department:
  1. Go to Settings > Departments
  2. Tap on edit and select the department from the list
NOTE: All team members part of the department you’ve just removed will be assigned to the default “No Department” list
